What is the Difference Between Botox & Filler?

Two of the most common questions our team at SkinReMEDI by Natural Body Spa in Atlanta (Brookhaven, Morningside), Alpharetta and Smyrna receive is, “What is the difference between Botox® & Filler?” and “Which one is right for me?” The short answer is most of our patients receive a combination of the two to help them achieve their aesthetic goals. What is the difference between Botox® and filler?

Botox® and Dysport® are two effective neuromodulators (also known as wrinkle erasers) that are injected in certain areas of the face to smooth out fine lines that develop over time. Botox & Dysport can effectively treat crow’s feet (lines next to eyes), horizontal forehead lines, and frown lines between the eyebrows (also known as 11’s).  

Filler (Juvederm® & Restylane®) are injected under the skin volumize cheeks, smooth smile lines, smooth lines around the mouth, plump the lips, define the chin, improve the jawline, or improve the appearance of undereye hollows. The results are long-lasting, and can be customized by your SkinReMEDI Aesthetic Injector to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

How long do treatments take?

Botox® & Dysport® treatments only take 10-15 minutes and require minimal downtime so you can quickly return to your daily routine just like that!

Fillers (Juvederm® & Restylane®) require approximately 30mins of numbing and 15-20 mins to inject the product into desired areas. There is minimal downtime and post-procedure instructions will be provided to you by your SkinReMEDI Aesthetic Injector.

How long do results last?

Botox® & Dysport® patients usually see results within 7-10 days, with full results in 30 days. Results are expected to last up to four months for moderate to severe lines.

Fillers (Juvederm® & Restylane®): Results may last one year to two years, with optimal treatment and depending on the formula used and the area treated.
