It is important to keep in mind that laser hair removal is actually laser hair reduction and hair can return at any time due to any bodily or hormonal changes. However, laser hair removal offers more downtime between treatments and touch ups vs. the time and money required to invest in other hair removal treatments.

There is some downtime involved with laser hair removal. The best time to get this treatment is when you aren’t going to regularly expose the treated area to the sun (i.e. cooler months). Immediately after treatment, there may be mild redness and swelling at the treatment site, which may last up to 2 hours or longer and in some cases the redness may last up to 2-3 days. The treated area may feel like sunburn. Apply ice packs or gel packs (do not apply direct ice) for first few hours after treatment to reduce any discomfort or swelling. If redness or swelling persists, ice packs can be continued. It’s also important to apply and wear sun protection to the areas treated.
